I've got a 2005 6.0L F250 with an oil leak saturating my starter and bell housing. After researching this forum it sounds like the most common cause are the CAC tubes. Sure enough my tube off the turbo is covered in oil so I assume this is the problem. My question is, Why would a charged air tube have oil in it? I would think the charged air tube would only have air in it and that I would lose boost if it leaked. My power is fine. Just curious. Mike
It's because of the CCV system and normal. If the cac's are leaking oil they are due for replacement anyway. You are probabably loosing boost thru them.
You can buy the parts at a local hardware store or you can buy a kit. You take a tube to the engine vent and send it to a canister to hold the oil then send a tube back to the intake.
