I'm pretty sure the air ride is disabled in 4WDL. The main reasons being are that you're not going to be going fast and you're likely doing something strenuous with the truck that could blow out the airbags if they were inflated.

I know that my 99 goes up some times, but not always. This has helped out a couple of times when I have been high centered. This is some thing that I have been wondering about as mine doesn't always pump up in 4WL but when it does it sure is up there.

Ours always raises up in 4WD Low.

On page 139 of my Owners Guide, 5th bullet down, it states: "In 4WD Low the air suspension system will not move to it's lowest height. In 4WD Low, the air suspension system raises the vehicle above the normal ride height at speeds below 40 km/h (25 mph) to improve ground clearance. In 4WD Low, do not exceed 56 km/h (35 mph)."

As soon as we put ours in 4WD Low the compressor kicks on and it noticably raises the Expy, I'm guessing something isn't working on yours...

good luck...
