I'm hoping to get a plan together and be able to stick to it. It's going to be a lot of work, but I know in the end it'll be worth it.

Stay tuned for progress, it should happen as time and money allow.

I've been tied up at work and remodeling projects at home and haven't made any progress. Hopefully spare time is near.

i started one of these projects last year with a 97 F800 diesel and my 93 crew cab long bed F350 i got as far as both cabs in my shop with the 350's windshield removed and all the marks for where i gotta cut the firewall and floor on both trucks. but then my 90's Chevy Topkick that my crane is mounted on decided to up and die (go figure, right?) so the F800 became the new crane... any way, the firewall and floor is different on the light and medium duty trucks. the floor pan is different to the back of the cab so there would have to be some grafting to make the floors fit. but then again, i had a 8.3L cummins and air brakes. but the 6.6 might take up less room, and if you have juice brakes you might just be able to use the f350s cab and dont need to worry about trying to clear the back of the engine im pretty sure a f600 is already set up for hydraulic brakes so you can probably just mount the f600s brake booster and master cylinder on your 350s firewall. good luck!

Thanks for the info. I haven't had much time to look at any of this, but a friend had done a similar conversion with an extra cab f350 on a larger chassis. He mentioned cutting the A-pillars and at the floor before the jams. Would be interested in what your cut points were going to be.
Thanks again,
John B.

Did you get the 6.6 running? I though I saw a post about it recently in the big rig section. It'll be a great truck when you're done. I just bought a 6.6 for my 67 F100.

I haven't been able to get over and work on it for some time now. At this point it'll probably be spring before I can do anything productive on it. I've got the 6.6 manual, if you need any info let me know.

I had a chance to work on the Dually Project this past Saturday. My plan was to get it started, drive it out into the open and sit the bed on the frame. I had a hot pair of batteries, my charger for extra boost and 10 gallons of fuel. Played around with it for about 2 and half hours, got a lot of almost starts until the batteries got too weak. I let it charge for a while and checked a few things. It turns out, after doing an ohms check on the fuel shut off solenoid, it was bad. By this time the batteries are still low and it's getting to be too late to mess with it. SO I towed it to an open area and this is what you get with an F350 Dually Bed on an F600 frame.

Rear wheel view. These are 19.5" wheels with 225/70's. It's got 245/70's on the front, I might try that to see how it looks. How much bigger of a tire do you think would look better.

It's progress. I can see the potential.
I got my 6.6 fired up a couple weeks ago, and painted it Ford Blue last week. Mine hadnt started in at least 3 years, but I got it to start in about 10 cranks. I was SOOOO happy!

Sorry I forgot to chime back in, I think my cut points were ~3" above the bottom of the windshield on both and the Reg cab floor behind the rocker seam and crew cab floor infront of rocker seam so I had room to match. Glad to see you're making progress!
