Changes to the 6.2 over the years?
Hi all,
First off I am new to the forum and new to the Ford 6.2 in general. I am actually working on a boat that has a 2018 6.2L in it. Unfortunately a broken valve has catastrophically ruined the engine. I have no previous history on the boat. I believe it was damaged from sinking based on other repairs that I have had to make. I have access to a 2021 long block from a very low mileage Super Duty. I would be moving all of the marine accessories and use the Marine ECM so I am not worried about wiring, intake, exhaust electronics or other accessories. I just need to know that the block and heads did not change between 2018 and 2021. I know in 2017 the 6.2 received different cams but that is the only notable change that I am aware of. Also please know I am aware of all of the ramifications of using an automotive block in a boat. This has a closed loop cooling system and I will transfer all marine accessories for spark prevention, I will transfer the oil pan and pick up that is unique for the marine application etc.
Thanks in advance for your help!

My understanding is the 2017-2022 are all the same internals. There may be some slight variations in the intake manifold for 2017-19, then 19-22 but I'm not totally sure what that is. There are quite a few posts on intake runners failing and finding replacement intakes had slightly different part numbers. I would also reach out to Indmar marine, who specializes in 6.2 motors. They might have the most knowledge on your question. Here is their link:

@RainDesert thank you for your response. To reduce the likely hood of having issues I was able to find an acceptable 2019 block. Should receive it next week, I will follow up if I run into anything.
