You bought another one? Dang! You'll have to post some pics. Sorry I didn't make it out to the house last Saturday. I ended up going home after the desert cleanup and threw out my back, so I didn't get any parts installed. I've been pretty low key all week trying to recoup. I do have to get out and have you take the truck for a spin, its been feeling like a lot of drag in the front end lately. I'm starting to wonder if the front end locks and spins at higher speeds, if that's even possible.
I think I also figured out the clunking sound my front end makes now and then. It looks like its the suspension bracket rivets loosening up. Mainly on my passenger side.
So what's the plans for the 37? Where are you going to pick it up?

I didn't buy it! Wifes grandpa is giving it to me... I think I'm going to rat rod it.. Have to take a good look at it when I get it home and see the contition... Its up in Stanley, so thats where I'm headed this weekend some time..
Ya we will have to look at that soon it sounds... Hell, on my 94 i had the rivits that hold the engine crossmember in came loose and it would click everytime I would turn the wheels one way or the other.. A couple min with the welder and its good as new!

So you welded it. Nice! That would save some time, I hate grinding rivets off. I have to check the drivers side xmember as well, since it sounds like its usually the first to go.
Ratrod!! **** yeah! That's a dream of mine. Sounds like we need to find you a 460 to throw in that baby I love the look of the 30's and 40's body's on lifted trucks too. Kinda like a lifted rat rod.
Get a hold of me sometime this weekend, I'll have to swing by to check out the new toys. I work Saturday morning but otherwise pretty free. Or if you need a hand hauling or anything let me know.

Well' I'm thinkin 302 for it really.. Mainly because I have 2 in the shed, and one in the 94 thats comming out sometime whenever I get the 351W gone throu.. Also have a 4 speed that would fit nicely... I'll see when I get back with it, might sit on the trailer untell tuesday, or tell next weekend.. I have to swap the rear axle in my wheeler yet, as the new one is sitting in the garage taking up space.. than swap that 5 speed into my 94 and sell the E4OD for extra $ to redo the 351W. lol i'm thinkin a basic rebuild with a bigger cam and thats about it...

That makes sense. If you have it might as well use it. The 302 really is a pretty stout engine. So your just swapping out the broken one ton? I thought you were rebuilding the existing rear axle. It sounds like you have a ton of work cut out for ya. Which is sweet! I love big projects, especially once your all done. lol I love the feeling of a job well done and learning something new.

So have you ever bought a tie rod that leaked out of the box? Or is there some way to seat them properly? I installed 3 new joints, left inner, left outer and right outer on my truck but one of the tie rods leaked as soon as I greased it up. I guess I figured it was probably defective or something since its tight and seems installed fine. I still have to do the right inner rod yet. I didn't think it was leaking as bad as it is, so I have to take it apart again anyways.
