Clutch Slippage-low miles

Ive got a 02 psd with only 31,xxx miles and and a dp-tuner, mbrp exhaust, 6637, the normal mods. Problem is, when i turn the tuner up to 60 econ or any higher setting, the clutch slips if i step on it around 2000 rpm. Is this just because the stock clutch just cant handle the extra hp/torque?

Wow, an 02 with only 31k miles. I am jealous.

Back on track... how does you pedal feel when you step on it? Does it feel like it is softer than it used to be? Mine went from fairly stiff to soft over a couple of days and then it started to slip at higher rpms. I light footed it around for a couple of weeks until I had a chance to change it out.

This is what mine looked like after I took it out. I would think something is not right to slip with those settings, as I pulled loads up to 23K gross weight without slipping.

Check the valley on the top of your engine for signs of any oil or fuel leaks. I don't think 60 econ will give you enough power to make the clutch slip. I'd guess you've got a leak and the clutch disc got wet.

My stock clutch won't slip at all when I turn the PHP chip up to 85HP.
Truck just takes off like it's on fire.

That will do it. Options are to either let it burn off while driving or try to flush it out yourself to speed the process along. The good news is you don't need a new clutch.
