I don't know about your codes, sorry.

oh the picture didn't work, is the pictures hosted on photobucket or some other online image server? if so try pasting the link again. I want to see it.

It Decodes like this:

F60 = F600 (Conventional)
Z = 256 - 8 cylinder engine
5 = 1955
G = Chicago Assembly plant
17266 = the truck serial number (they began with 10001)

Thanks Anybody know what the 15adss5321x means.

Is there any data base that would track owners? All records from the fire truck company were lost. Sold out in 76 and the new idiot owners didn't want to move all those heavy "worthless junk" records I am guessing.

If the truck was operated by a certain city or county agency, they may have records of it, or their insurance company may have records.

Is the 15adss5321x in the "production code" part of the rating plate or someplace else? Those long production codes sometimes reflect a date, but more often than not when they are long like that they reflect a contract or purchase order number.

That's a very nice looking truck btw!

Thanks again. Those numbers are in the production code space. Unfortunately the history is not going to be easy to track down. Volunteer departments change people over time and no one knows where used trucks were purchased from. That's part of the joy in owning "old Junk" as some call it. It drives and runs as nice as it looks.
