Caliper Torque Specifications

Does anyone know the OE torque spec. for the front caliper bolts on a 2010 F150? These bolts are Grade 10.9 M16x1.5, thanks.

Great post Charlie....tried to rep you but have to spread it first. Great info there.....looks like it would be a good idea for the mods or admins to start a tech folder in here and drop this in there.

2012 caliper bolt torque

I searched and found this post from Shotgunz which gives the torque specs for a 2010 F150.

What are the specs for a 2012 F150?

I'm looking specifically for the anchor plate and the small bolts (13mm head) that mount the caliper itself to the slide pins.

I've gotton conflicting info from two different dealer's techs, so I don't know if either is correct. From what I've seen, a lot of techs don't use torque wrenches.

Hoping someone has an actual 2012 service manual that will clarify.

Getting ready for a long tow, and just going over the things I've learned to check in the past.

Thanks in advance

bline,

A tremendous thanks.

Will check all these this evening for the first time (truck has ~1200 miles).

Getting ready for the long tow this week and want to be sure there are no loose brake bolts.

Have read that it has happened.

marcgaugha,

Understand, thanks for trying.

Old thread I know, but word of caution for anyone else looking here I used the torque posted by @shotgunz on my front caliper guide pins (55 ftlbs) and it stripped the threads. I don't have the service manual but saw it posted elsewhere in the 24-27 ftlbs range, so after I get some replacements I'll be going much easier on them this time.

I hear ya bad ash. I was replacing my rotors and brake pads today and needed the torque specs so I googled and found.....you guessed it. 55 lb for the guide pin bolt compliments of shotgunz. Thankfully, I knew something wasn't right as I was torquing it past what it should be and I stopped to confirm. I will finish up tonight with the correct spec of 24-27 lbs.

I'm working on a 2010 f150 4x4 fx4 ecoboost. doing from pads and rotors. so

lugnuts 150 lbfts?
caliper bracket bolts 136 lbfts?
caliper slide bolts 24-27 lb fts? and not 55 lbs fts

lube the pins but do I need to lube the ears on the pads. I don't see ford tech makuloco or others lubing the ears?
Thanks

I never do. They'll just attract grime and brake dust. Put them together clean and dry.

toque question

replacing rotors and pads this weekend 2014 f150 lariat 4wd, for the anchor caliper bolts i keep seeing 184lb and some places 136Lb. My toque wrench only goes to 150Lb. Really dont want to buy a new one and if correct spec is 184lb hats pretty much getting it tight and one more good grunt. More concerned about caliper pins at 24lb and lug nuts at 150lb which I can do with current wrench.

Unfortunately, I just did the same after searching multiple forums and repeatedly finding 55 ft-lbs. It's definitely not 55.
