Can you use a T18/19 shifter in an NP435, or an NP435 shifter in a T18/19? I know the way they are held down varies from tranny to tranny, but will the shifter cane itself interchange?

I think the ball is a different diameter and the lever is a different length. I have the shifter out of an NP435 right now that I can provide measurements off of, if anyone has a T18 or T19 they can provide for comparison.

 

uhgh... I just discovered something... not all NP435 shifters are the same... so not all NP435 top covers will work with all NP435 shifters.... The problem is part of the top cover is taller than some others, and the shifter is different to match that... uhgh... the top cover from the tranny i got the shifter from is froze up, probably my fault. I was moving the shift forks around by hand to try and line them up when they just froze up and now they will not move.
