Gas Tank size

You could always keep a few gallons of gas in the bed and run it out, but I still feel you have a 19 gal tank. More than likely its a sending unit problem. Its a pain to get to. Most say its easier to remove the bed than to drop the tank if that gives you an idea. A lot of people will say its bad to run a vehicle out of gas because it will suck up junk from the tank, but there is a filter in the tank and a filter inline. nothing is getting past both of them and when you are out 4 wheelin you are shaking up anything down in there anyway.

I had a problem with my 1999 Ranger, it would show 1/4 tank on the gauge but the tank was actually empty. That's tricky if you don't know it's doing that. I picked it up after the second time, i.e., it didn't happen a third time only twice. Hahahahaha.
Anyway. I dropped the tank and took out the fuel pump sender assembly and checked the ohms. Checked ok so I just reinstalled and it seems to be reading ok now.
The thing is that the fuel pump inlet can be adjusted so that while the float is still floating the inlet is out of the fuel at times. So it seems like the engine is not getting gas while there's still fuel in the tank.

My failing memory seems to recall that, yes, a two tank option was available sometime in the long-ago past.
