Foil delete. NOW HELP NEEDED! IC BOOT AND CLAMP PROBLEM

When doing a foil delete do you just use a razor blade to cut the foil and insulation off?
What do you use to get the excess sticky stuff off?
Is this all there is to it?

Yes for the most part. Dont forget to wear leather gloves the foil is very sharp. I got as much of the insulation off by hand them I use a cheap painbrush to use a potent all purpose adhesive stripper to get the rest of it off. The adhesive that they used to glue the insulation on is something else. I made up a half round scraper out of a piece of sheetmetal to help the process go a bit quicker.

This is what I used. It used to be called "Solu-Strip", but I guess it was renamed "Handi-Strip". Same stuff and it worked great...

Shop Crown Gallon Handi-Strip Semi-Paste at Lowes.com

I used a razor knife for the foil and used a wire wheel attachment on a hand held drill, with brake clean, WD 40, and some sort of adhesive remover to get the glue off. Took me about 15-20 min. Seemed to work very well.

I took Joes advice when I did mine and used the Handi-Strip, that stuff melted the glue right off. Good stuff!!

I cut the foil just deep enough to pull it from the pipe. Then I used some adhesive remover and a razor blade to get the big stuff off, then some steel wool to clean it up the rest of the way.

I was going to use some Mothers on it to shine it up but that adhesive took awhile to remove

It must not be turned the correct way. Loosen both end's and get it lined up right and then tighten the bottom clamp and then the top.

The bottom (closest to turbo) has always been on i only took off the top one. It just wants so slide down tword the other one when i start to clap down real tight but im scared if i dont go tight it will blow off! It was tight when i took it off now 15 minutes later it wont tighten up where it was? the pipe is in all the way and it seats correctly "locked in" or what have you
