Anyone?
The "Custom Cab" trim below speedo is a "new for 1964" only item.

In '62, the 262 was not a regular production optional engine in F 100's, the 223 was standard engine, the 292 was the only other regular production optional engine. The 262 was a special order on your F 100, this is why there is a special DSO number on your warranty tag. In other words, the original buyer really wanted a 262 really bad to have the dealer special order this engine. Very few people did this, mainly customers insisting they could get a big 6 in competitors pickups ( which probably was Chevy which offered the 261 in their pickups for the first time in '62). The 1964 year model was the first year the 262 became a optional regular production engine in 2 WD's F 100's.

Been working on the engine swap in mine lately. 390GT our of a Mustang. Intake is late '62 Ford Galaxie. Finally found some headers that were closer to fitting. Ended up with Sandrson headers.

Ya may want to coat the headers and wrap your starter. That #4 pipe
looks real close to it.

Heat will kill the starter as I am sure ya know. But ya got the best on
there from the look of it.
I love me an FE I do. Any size. But the 390 Auto engine seems the best
all around for sure. Great choice.

Hello all, I'm a new member on FTE but have used the wealth of knowledge here for many of my projects. I thank you all for sharing your experiences here and hopefully I can help someone out as much as you've helped me. I'm unsure how to post pictures yet but will figure it out asap. Now about my truck She's a 1962 f250 unibody that I found lingering in the woods of my favorite junkyard, I brought her home and slid 73 f250 axles and drive train under her. She's 4x4 and 360 fe powered. I will get pics up soon
