302 V8 (out of 68 mustang), c4 trans, Edelbrock carb. Runs strong.. got some rust, but not a bad ride. Eventually will be looking to drop it and fix up the bodywork, just gotta find the time and money.

Update on my '62

Running and driving and tagged. Runs great definitely handles different than anything ive ever drove. Patched in the cab and bed where the rust ate it out so now she is pretty solid and warmer. Swapped in a '78 f250 wiper motor and switch, bolted right in. As well as the headlight switch. Everything works great just need to figure out how to get more air out of the dash vent.

Wish someone hadnt replaced the tail gate skin without the ford letters

And my inspiration

Hello everybody, I'm obviously new to the forum. My name is Nic and I have had an obsession with unibody fords since I was a little boy and am just now having the courage to purchase one. I'm in the market and think I may have found a good clean one. I will be sure to post pics asap if and when I get one.

If you are looking for a Uni that you can jump in and go without having to do anything but start it and go than let me know. I need to get mine listed in the want ads on here.

Here's my cream puff 61 out of Wyoming. Its a 2 owner, always been in Rock Springs/Green River area. Coming home to Bremerton Wa at the end of this month when the weather gets better.

292 4 speed.

Already have a 03 Crown Vic front sub and rear diff for it. Going bags and layin frame. Not changing the color just gonna repaint it flat. Until it gets the frame swap, its gonna sit on a set of 61-66 Chrysler Imperial wheels I saved from my demo derby days.

Looks nice...keep us updated on its progress. I brought mine home to Everett, Wa a few years ago. Haven't done much to it yet. Just try to get er out of the garage and drive it once in awhile.

A 61 Uni long bed I bought 2 months ago, has Volare clip installed by previous owner. I have been thinking of cutting the body down to a short bed and installing it on my 63 short bed frame. I really don't want the Volare clip and I'd rather have a short bed truck. The 63 body has a lot of damage, it was creased along the drivers side with a TD25 Dozer blade, plus the typical rust issues. Still on the fence on what to do ...

I like the short beds better, too but I think the unibodies are harder to shorten because the side detail runs at an angle down the body. The 65/66 is much easier to convert to shortbed.
Keep us posted on your decision and welcome to FTE!!

Just bought this 1961 yesterday. Way less rust than my ol' 1963 uni. Just a little in the floors. Apparently was an old forest ranger truck? Paid more for it than I should ($2700) but I had to have her. The 223 runs alright so I'll just restore her over time. I love the way they look stock! Decent condition Uni's are getting hard to find around here...
