Install the engine in the location where you want it and build the mounts to fit. It's custom fabrication, but it's certainly not rocket science.
Sure, that sounds simple enough.

One more question, when we change the motor...where is the best place to get the new rad as there would be no need for 2 water pumps etc?

I'm putting a 302 in mine, i'm pulling the EFI off, but you could sure keep it on your project. Or the 351 or the 390, 460... Quite a few ppl on here recommend the 351w and it is a really good engine with lots of potential, i'm just partial to the 302.

Two water pumps???

You can't go wrong with an 87-95 302 (5.0) They're cheap to build and have a ton of aftermarket support. The later 4.6 OHC or DOHC engines are a little more high tech if you want to go that route. They've been around now for 20 years and have a great reputation for being pretty much bulletproof.

What's the deal with the '95-'96 change? I bought a '96 but all the cool parts I want in the catalogs are for '95 and older, is it the roller cam or what's the difference?

P.S. I know you're a Merc fan so i'll mention that I just got back from riding in my friends '68 Cougar, that's a fun ride.

I guess a lot of guys swap in the radiator from the 6cyl (one in and one out). I have one that i'm not going to use but I don't know if shipping it to Canada would be as much fun as i'm thinking it would.

I don't know, all i've done to it is flushed it out with a hose and if you hold the bottom hole shut it'll fill up to the top without leaking, but that's not under pressure of course. I think this truck has been on the road fairly recently so it could be either way I suppose.

1995 was the last year the traditional 5.0 engine was used in the Mustang. But it was still used for a few more years in the Explorer. In that application, the engine used a unique water pump, intake manifold and heads. Probably a few other little things, too. But the basic engine itself is the same. What "cool parts" are you looking to use?

I was noticing on LMC that they have them new from 249.99..not too bad at all....what do you think about a 1984 302 with a T-5 already rebuilt and ready to go? do you think there would be fitment issues?

REBUILT 5.0 HO T5 TRANNY CENTERFORCE CLUTCH - Windsor Region Engine, Engine Parts For Sale - Kijiji Windsor Region Canada.
The year of the engine isn't as big a deal as what comes with it. The only real downside to the 84 is it'll have a flat tappet camshaft. The roller cam was introduced one year later, in '85.

The Mustang T-5 will be a difficult fit from the sense the shifter will be set back farther than most people would be comfortable with.
