Tight timing chain removal

I recently built a new motor and changed my mind on cam selection due to change of plans for motor. I have a brand new FMS double roller timing chain. This chain is super tight and has almost zero play. I have removed the cam sprocket bolt and have tried to slide the sprocket off the cam but it tightens up before coming off the cam, I think because the chain has almost zero slack. The bottom crank cog will not budge by hand. Anyone have any tricks or ideas?

Try a large screwdriver behind the crank gear to gently wedge it forward and then try to
remove the cam gear. You may have to move it a couple of times to get it where the
cam gear will come off.

You must remove the two sprockets evenly, keeping the chain from getting twisted.

That's the problem....I can't get the bottom to budge....I'll keep at it....maybe eventually it will free up.

When it doesn't budge....

Use Bigger Bar X More Force = Sprocket Moves

Once it broke I could remove by hand....just didn't remember it being that difficult before.

Thanks for the help guys!

Sounds like you need to use some kind of puller...

Something seems amiss that one of the sprockets is so stuck on a new motor.
