Lariat Leather

So I was reading the owners manual for "fun" and I noticed that the cleaning instructions for the Lariat leather is different from the King Ranch leather. The King Ranch uses leather cleaner but the Lariat uses vinyl cleaner.

What kind of "leather" is in the Lariat?

Lariat leather has a protective coating on it while KR leather is considered a natural leather. Front seat seating surfaces are the only place that leather is used on a Lariat anyway, the rest is "looks like leather" vinyl...

The seating surface in the Lariat (with the holes for the seat A/C) is a synthetic type material, right?

I guess the console is "looks like leather" also?

It looks like the outer perimeter of the driver and passenger seat (part around the surfaces with holes for the cooled seats) is leather and I think the console is leather. The rest I would bet is vinyl.

This is the one thing that disappoints me about all SD's. I really can't justify the expense of the KR because of the way my truck is used but I really wish the interior would have that leather smell since the Lariat is supposed to have leather seats.

Ouch. Wonder why they would skimp on the leather in a $60,000+ truck

I find it a little misleading that my window sticker says "Interior - Black Leather" Not "Interior - Black Peather", "Interior - Black Faux Leather", "Interior - Black Leather looking material"

I have to admit I am disappointed in that. I don't have my truck yet and I haven't looked too close at the seats. I guess I was just assuming that it was the same leather that was in the F-150 Lariat. I am going to miss the smell. Hell my Tundra still has a nice leather smell and its 3 years old.

Can you TELL it's fake leather?

I think roadking is doing his best Ricardo Montalban impression there. If not, nice double entendre.

I am quite pleased with my leather seating in my Lariat. I even like the camo inserts.

Awesome!

As long as it feels like leather I am happy. I remember old school vinyl seat from the 80 and how bad I used to burn my legs on them. lol

I wouldn't have known if I didn't read it here. This is by far the most comfortable truck I've ever owned. No complaints from me....
