I wonder tho. There are plenty of guys out there who reprogram the computer for performance and I think one or more mods affect the fuel air mixture. Perhaps it can be adjusted for altitude? Or perhaps the advance curve can be adjusted via reprogramming.
I am not sure how reprogrammable the older computers are, but the newer systems appear fairly flexible.
Worth exploring. But may not be cheap.

And there is the major problem. To improve fuel economy .02% can cost $1000 and is just not gonna be cost effective. Besides that the EFI system to be effective has to be able to make adjustments on it's own and if you limit it without side programming, you destroy it's effectiveness.
