Nelson's Auto Repair
Reddington Street
Littleton, NH

Took my truck (48 F-1 with Volare suspension) there for an alignment and it was worse when I left than before they worked on it. Had to take it to a second shop for alignment.

who worked on your truck??

White Mountian Transmission
Bethlehem,NH

went to have my trans tested for TC lock..went back to get truck to find trans out and taken a part...asked how come..he said needed to be rebuilt..i said how much...he said 3200 ...took him to court and lost..i had no witness and he had his wife....
In NH you don't need a estaminets to do work..you just give the OK by word of mouth....how is that fair??
with my custom tunes i had very hard shifts..had to put in a new valve body and pump to make it shift right..

I don't remember the guy's name that did the alignment at Nelson's but he worked on it for several hours and mumbled something about not being able to access the the upper A-arm bolts when I picked it up. I had gotten it close in my garage by using a small aftermarket alignment gauge I borrowed from a friend. It was driving pretty well but I wanted to be sure it as aligned properly since I had new tires on it. When I left Nelson's it was pulling very hard to one side. I should have just left the alignment where it was.

As far as White Mountain Transmission goes, I spoke with that same transmission shop in Bethlehem about a rebuilt TH350 for my truck when I first started building it in 2003. He quoted me $1000 for a rebuilt TH350. I never went back nor do I intend to deal with him ever. Found a rebuilt TH350 elsewhere for $350. He thinks he can charge people whatever he wants since he's the only guy in the area doing transmission work.

Do you know of anyone else in our area that rebuilds transmissions or does alignments on "special projects"?

I know what you mean...same here! I think if I need any more transmission work I'm just going to buy one off the internet. It may be cheaper in the long run and you don't have to deal with the local thieves...
