So does anybody still know where these (or any other Ford/Lincoln) manuals can be downloaded without dropping money on an iffy eBay sale?

I bought one of the eBay CDs a while back. It contained two PDF files. Both have been very helpful. Another thing you could try is this link:

1996 Bronco/F-Series Workshop Manual

I used quite a bit before I found the CD. I use both of these to compare information.
