'54 F1 parts cross reference
Hey everyone,
I am new to this forum so hope to not bore or bother. I have owned a pair of '54 F1 shortbox stepsides that have been itching to rebuild into a "Rat" and a restore for about 5 years. Now that my girls are older and life is a little easier it is time to get started. I have done research through the years on these projects just to find that now that I am ready to start I do not have the info I need. What I am trying to find is where to find information on the interchangeable parts and such for my rod that I would like to see close to completion for my oldest daughters graduation in 3+ years. I know it can be done just a little point in the right direction for parts. Yes I can find all the aftermarket for these trucks, but am having a hard time finding the other info to make it a custom build. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as the frame is about done and ready to start building. THANKS!!!

Welcome to the forum. For us to help you, you're going to need to be a bit more specific about what info you're wanting. What parts interchangability are you looking for? Half ton 1954 Ford trucks weren't F-1's they were F-100's, so that's a bit confusing, too. Do you really have a '54? or is it actually an F-1?

The 1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com for around 20 bucks.
Or, you buy a reprint of the original bound paper parts catalog from Carpenter for 200 bucks.
Ford changed the identifiers of F1 (F2 and etc) in 1953 to F100 (F250 and etc).
1948/56 truck parts catalog identification for F1/F100: C / 1957 and later: F100.
