2001 Superduty diesel vs.'95

Drove my '95 powerstroke (5 spd., 3.73 diff.4x4 x-cab)
for 150.000 mi. ,loved it.
Bought a new 2001 (6-spd., 3.73.4x4 x-cab) and haven't
been impressed with the engine(suspension&brakes are a
unreal improvement)Have 18.000mi on it now, never better than
16 mi/gal; old one got 18 all the time &up to 20 with summer fuel
in the fall;ford has done cylinder contribution test couple times and says it is within parameters(although i think the test isn't quantitative, just acceptable or not acceptable)
It just seems to be rough between 1500 and2400 under light
throttle smoothing out more from2500to2900 rpm where it actuallyan animal;Had it dyno'd tor. 465@2050 Hp was245@2850
Do I need a) chip b) new truck c)psychologist

if you put both the trucks on a dyno the 01' would win. More power comes with a price i guess. My 02' gets 14 mpg with 295/75/16's. with the 235's i got 17. My dad's 95' also gets 17-20 but its not as fast as mine . i wouldnt stress about it. if you want get some gauges and a chip.

The newer truck has a turbo lag because of the intercooler. If you can't live with it, get a chip.
