6.2l F150 Lariat rated @ 411HP?? Superduty rated at 385HP??
I am planning on ordering a 6.2l Lariat F250, but i have been reading the 2011 F150 will be coming out with the "Raptor" 6.2l rated at 411hp vs the F250-F350 rating of 385hp, seems to me the Superduties could make more use of this extra power, What's Ford thinking?? When will the Raptor engine be available in the Superduty, anyone know?

6.2L V8 In F-150
Max HP - 411 @ 5500 rpm
Max Torque - 434 @ 4500 rpm
6.2L V8 in Super Duty
Max HP - 385 @ 5500 rpm
Max Torque - 405 @ 4500 rpm
The Raptor and the upper trim lines of the F-150 are halo vehicles for Ford. They have to rated to the extreme. Verify the fuel requirements of the higher hp versions. They may be advertised based on using premium or E85, I dunno.
Looks like Ford left room for more gas engine HP wars.

I'm inclined to agree with you. The next question though, is what is being risked by using a tuner that primarily adds HP and Torque.

The way I see it, it is not a matter of if but when this "Raptor" motor will be in the Superduty, is Ford waiting for Chev/Dodge to start a Hp race similar to what happened with the diesel? There will be a lot of disapointed people if the power numbers are increased to 411hp/435trq on the 6.2l after just having bought the 385hp/405trq version, after all it's not like they can be reflashed like the diesels were, changing a cam etc is a little more involved/expensive. Just give us the "Raptor" engine already!!

What if they detuned it from a longevity standpoint? They did the same thing with the E series engine. Granit that was for a heat/cooling issue since it had a small engine bay. They also did it for the new chassis cab trucks. The 6.7 is only rated at 300 hp and 660 tq. As where in the F250, 350, 450 its rated at 400 hp and 800 tq
