Whats needed swap 5.4 to a 6.8

Hi i have a 99 f250 sd with the 5.4 and there is a 6.8 in the jy and would like to know how difficult will this swap be? Swapping the engine is easy but whats needed to make it work? Engine harness, pcm, what else? Thanks lmk

if the jy truck is pretty complete you could prob get it done but piecing it together may be frustrating and overly costly.
Also you may have to get the cluster so it is recognized as a match for the v10 processor for the pats anti theft system or custom chip to do away with it all together.

A limit increase on your gas card!!
You may want to make sure that your bellhousing bolts up to the 6.8 the same way.

Check your key.If it is thin and not fat with a chip in it you will not need the cluster. If possible you might get the trans. If not installing now later you may need it.I would think the v10 trans would have extra frictions and beefier internals.

Oh you would b surprised at the differences in the details of a trans.Even small servo and accunulator demintion differences or spring pressuredifferences can make major differences,Ever see the difference in an aod for mustand vs. other lesser models. They actually have a different servo.IF you can get the trans I would even if you only use it as a backup. You may just save yourself some money down the line.

But then again I am probably over active when it comes to my cars.
Just my .02 worth.
