mpg change after regear???

I was wondering if there is any way to calculate what my difference in fuel economy would be if I re geared my truck? I talked to Ford and they can swap the 4.30 in my 2011 450 to the 3.73's like the F350's have. I currently get 11.5 average around town, and about 10.5 on highway doing about 80 mph. Trying to determine would it would be if I swapped them out.

If you bought the truck primarily for towing (I assume you did, since you got the big dog), I think you'll be happier overall with the 4.30s. If you do a lot of unloaded driving, I think you'll see a 1.5-3 mpg improvement on the highway, maybe .5-1 in the city with the 3.73s

I mainly use it as my daily driver, big I know. I've always driven F350 duallys with the 4.10 and cant imagine anything smaller. I figured if I love my 350, a 450 would be even better! In the past I've never cared about fuel economy, but now I'm thinking with 7 years of payments ahead I would like to see an increase in mpg over my old 6.0L, especially since Ford did away with everything that made it a true 450. Overall though I am very happy with the changes ford made to the new trucks.

edit: The fifthwheel I'm looking at will weigh about 13,500 loaded, but now that I have the new truck, might have to wait awhile for that purchase ;(
