Is the front frame section spliced in the same place on both, or will you be cutting it further back? Hope you plan to use the '08 rear suspension as well for a better ride. For the cab, it sounds like you'll be removing welds in the Ex roof and separating it at the factory joints, correct? Getting into the roof on the Ex sounds like a lot of work...

I'm not sure where exactly I'm going to splice it yet. It depends on how the front suspension going to work out the easiest. Plan on using the rear suspension from the 08. Yes going threw the rocker seem and floor seem and where the roof is attached to the A pillar. This hole projects going to be a lot of work.
You might look into cutting and patching just the lower cab/pillar corner instead of getting into the roof. I've looked at the diagrams showing how many spot welds there are and it would be a nightmare. Unless the Ex you're using already has roof damage and needs the skin replaced, I'd stay away from the roof.
Sounds like a ton of work! But it will be cool for sure! have you thought about puttin 2011 fenders grille and such on it? I think 2011 fenders and that would bolt right on the 08 inner structure.
Got the box off today, found my fuel leak and fixed, but still don't run, pulled the frame down a foot and half so the gas tank isn't sitting on the ground and will roll on its own and changed the front tire with one from the last project.
what landed in the back of it any idea. ive see a lot of wrecked units over the years but thats a first. looks like it was a support beam from an overpass.

I pretty sure it was a tree I found bark and branches stuck in the sheet metal.
if you have issue getting it running let me know Ill do what I can to help with info.
The original problem was the fuel was puring out of the tank when you turned the key on. Once I got the box off I figured out why. The impact from the tree pop the main fuel line off. So I pushed it back on. Problem solved but no start. So I checked the engine fuel filter to make sure that there was fuel at the motor and there is. So its not a fuel problem. That is as far as I got today. Put a charge on the batteries for the night just to rule out that it is not a low voltage problem. Next is to check all the fuses. Anything else I should check?
i'll bet your neighbors really love you right now. the grumpy old ******* that lives beside me gets pissed when i leave my lawnmower in the drive overnight...he'd have a stroke if i pulled in with a salvage truck! Hmm...
Got the truck running today. The number 74 20 amp fuse was blown under the hood. Replace it and it fire right up. But still have a check engine light. Here is video.
