Recommended Rebuild Kits?

I've got this motor down to the block, and it's going in for honing, magnaflux, and boil this week. I'm going to be rebuilding the bottom end, replacing one head, and rebuilding another. Any recommendations on where to source rebuild kits? Any links would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm so out of touch with rebuilding anything these days that I personally have no idea - others here have done it, I hope they chime in soon.

Before anyone else says it, check the cost of rebuilding a head against just buying a brand-new one. Seems they are pretty cheap, comparatively.

Was going to say the same thing. Rebuilding a head isn't really worth it from what I've seen. Better to have the peace of mind on a new one.

Let your machinist give you recommendations.....the only 2 cents I will give is if you are replacing the cams, avoid Comp like the plague....QA cyclic type issues....nothing new with them...been going on for years.

Agreed - I replaced one of mine. Ford Factory only. Keeping the worn one as a trophy of sorts.

Should band-saw it in half down the length of it

Let your machine shop buy the rebuild kit...nothing worse then customer supplying pistons and bearings that are .010 over when the cylinders dont clean until .013. Plus most shops get kits like that for cheaper then you can by buying straight from the dealer. Also I'd reccomend making sure the shop checks the main bores for trueness and cleans up the deck.

Side tip if you dont already know the factory main, rod and head bolts are Torque to yield which means you should replace with new ones

As far as cams nobody makes aftermarket but if the lobes are pitted send them to crower and they will check them for straightness and true them up and do a regrind for about 10 duration and send them back clean for about $300...
