Why is warranty only 60k on the 6.7

I have been looking at new trucks very hard. I will put between 40-50,000 miles a year on truck. Wonder why Ford will only put a standard 60,000 warranty on their new engine. Wouldn't they want to stand behind their own engine more than that, or are they trying to sell more extended warranties. With the price of these new trucks to me they ought to have a 100,000 mile warranty on the engine.

They do have a 100k warranty on the engine. The 60k one is for the whole drivetrain.

I wonder how many people will go in for a would-be warranty repair at 95k and say to the dealer "I need this fixed... just wish it was still under warranty" to which the dealer will look around and reply "yeah... out of warranty... so you'll be paying cash?"

I wonder how many independent garages will look at them and say "Dont take it to the dealer, it's out of warranty anyway!". And yes, that happens quite frequently. 50% of my work is fixing independent garage messes. Two sides to every story!
