Question In Iraq, need a code for the Radio...

Hello, I'm currently in Iraq. I have a 2004 Ford Explorer as my daily GOV. I recently had a dead battery and took it in to get replaced, now the radio is asking for a code.

I read through the owners manual and there isn't any mention of a code.

Does anyone have a way to recover the code? Thanks!

Is it a stock radio, or aftermarket? If aftermarket, you'll need to know the brand and probably need to contact the manufacturer. I haven't run in to any Ford OEM radios that require a code, including my 2004 Mountaineer with the Premium system.

Yeah, it's the stock Radio with a code. Just been driving it with no tunes, oh well.

What type of stations do you get there? Or are you only playing CDs? That eastern type of music can get booring pretty fast.

SWEET! Thank You...

No, it's a cassett deck, but I listen to the AFN (Armed Forces Network) Rock station, it's transmitted for the military.

I'm glad you don't have to listen to that suff that they have there. I've heard a lot of Arabic music and it gets tiring very quickly. Hope you get the system operating soon and stay safe.

WTH? How is it "asking for a code"? What's on the display? I've never seen a Ford radio do this. There's nothing in the Ford manual regarding a code to operate the radio. Seen it on a Honda but not a Ford. There was some kind of sticker on the radio on my new Transit Connect, didn't pay it much attention, but I did save it. Tell me more.

Edit: Try the last four digits of your VIN.

Explorer in Iraq...also need radio code!

Dang I might have the same truck. Did anyone ever find the code for these radios? It is stock.

Big problem is that the owners manual is in Arabic...and no code is in it.

Can anyone help? Any ideas?

And yes some of the stations are pretty decent. I heard one the other day that played the "call to prayer" and was followed by a recent hip hop song immediately after...
