What Year Did They Introduce Clutch Safety Switch?

Simple question hopefully somebody can answer. Getting dark so I can't go poke around too much. My '74 currently does not require you to press the clutch in order to engage the starter but I wouldn't be surprised if this has been bypassed in the past. So how about it, is it supposed to have a clutch safety switch or no?

Yes there are plenty of benefits of NOT having one. I've just seen so many things that have been "Bubba'd" that I'd like to know for sure.

Nathan, i don't think yours came with one . My 79 never had one , but then it did have a lot of wires and other things chopped up. All my other ,three, trucks had c/6 tranys , so i may be wrong.

I don't see one on my master wiring diagrams, but they are hard to view on the computer screen. I need a plotter to print them at readable size.

It was sometime in the 1980's when the clutch safety switch was used. My '86 F250 had one.
