Spark plug wire suggestion

I was looking at purchasing a set of Borg Warner plug wires for my 5.8L. Has anyone had any experience with them? Or would I be better of in the long run spending the extra $25 and going with the motorcraft wires.

On this topic. Would there be any advantage to going with Accel 8.8mm Wires since I'm installing a 42,000V Accel Electronic Super Coil??? I believe the coil wire that comes with it is 8.8mm hence the reason for asking, I just want to know if the 8.8mm wires are really necessary to take full advantage of the 30%+ additional voltage this coil produces.

i honestly couldnt tell ya lol but my guess would be if it comes with the 8.8 mill coil wire then you should proly go with the 8.8 spark wires as well.

Best fitting & best made replacement wires came from Napa in their Echlin brand. The stuff at Autozone, etc is junk!

ahh. I think I'll probly go with them then, and since they come in sets of 8 with 42" of wire that you cut to length I'm thinking of mounting the coil on the Fender well Drivers side and use 1 of the 2 spares(300Cid straight 6) as a coil wire to span the gap. my reasoning is that will get the coil and bracket off the block and out of the way,and protect the rather Expensive Accel coil from engine vibrations which may or may not extend it's service life

You want Spirals, maximum hi-temp insulation & minimum Ohm/ foot.

MDS 8.5 mm Superconductors, Taylor Thunderbolts & Ford racing 9mm's are specs you what you want to compare to.

This stuff's critical w/a high output coil.

If you don't run a brass cap & rotor w/ that coil, you'll start missing soon, regardless of wire choice!

hmm yeah I'm gonna getta set of the brass cap n rotor I was aware of that. and your comments registers with me about the missing. I ran Autoboner wires on my 87 with this coil[one I had prior to this one) and it missed something god awful now in hindsight your comment makes perfect since to me. question Would these inadequate wires or cap and rotor ultimately damage the coil??? I'm thinking not. But could they if not damage per say, maybe reduce it's service life????

When you use a high output coil , you need the cap rotor & wires to go with it , MSD is a good choice....Lew

I got a set of FordRacing 9's when I got my msd blaster coil. Very happy with them. Just be aware you need looms that will fit that size wire.

I put the NAPA lifetime wires on my vehicles. I check (ohm) them out every couple of years. If they do not ohm out within specs, I take them back for an exchange.

I ran the ford racing 9mm wires in my old truck and my lightning and I like them. Good price for them too. I run a Moroso HO coil and MSD cap/rotor.
