While they aren't as bad, I still see a throttle lag compared to a carbureted gas or mechanical diesel.

That's a good point, that may be most of it! I still say it needs the time to gather info from all the various sensors before it dumps fuel in - for emissions reasons, as opposed to 'blindly' dumping in fuel though. lol

How far up North or you?
I'm from Illinois and we called it power braking, still do in the South.

Okay just saw farther down in the thread, Michigander.

Power braking is what us boys up here in the motor capital of the world call a truck with vacuum or hydro-boost brakes. Hole shots are accomplished with brake torquing. You see you are holding the brake and torquing up...oh never mind, you get it.

its normal my dodge does the same thing, I am running a smarty tune, which helps out a ton, it can be somewhat scary jumping out into traffic. say if you are left turning and need to get it done quick the stock program has quite a big of hesitation to it, the smarty helps a lot but in that situation it puts out a ton of smoke before it spools but all that smoke helps it spool faster, really romping on it like that with the smarty tune will break the tires loose and maybe get you sideways if you are an idiot driver.

Plus when the oncoming traffic sees the smoke they might slow down and give more time to get through the intersection, lol.

All I was saying about the brain thing is that your body takes in info slower than a computer, but your brain can predict would is going to happen better than a computer so with practice you can perform faster than you can take in what your doing.
