How do you mount the 6x9 speaker?

How are you guys mounting the 6x9 speaker in the dash. I have a 51 with no radio but would like to mount the speaker so I can hook it up to a newer radio(hidden of course).

The speaker mounts on a bracket that attaches to the radio. You may have to fab one up, originals are tough to find.

take 1/2 MDF and build a box to the 6x9s specifications. place polyfil (pillow stuffing liberally into the box and insert 6x9's. When i mounted my 6x9's in the dash, 10 min later i removed them. the midbass that 6x9's offered where too much for the metal used within the vehicle ( 51 f2) and the sound bounced off and made a ting sound. by building your own boxes to specs and placing them under the seats you have a lot better sound quility within your install, without just "making music". my 2 cents.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but I bought an NOS box that looks to be the same size as the bracket on Ebay several years ago. I have yet to open up the box.
