1953 Ford F100. Its been in the family ever since 1963. Just found a flat head to put back in it and trying to find a bell housing for the 53 f100 truck. My dad used it for a work truck when i was growing up. He passed away, July 01. I would like to get it fixed back up to pass it on to my son, he is 26 now.

Just a friendly bump to the top for the new guys. In the last couple of days I've read a lot of posts from new, or relatively new, members asking for help to locate parts and they don't have their location listed. Whether they are looking for some one selling new parts or used, it really helps to know where you're located. There might be a local vendor or a national vendor who is closer than another but we don't know who is close to you unless we know your general location.
It's also very helpful is you're looking for help repairing something. There might be some one in the next town over who would be happy to take a drive over and offer a helping hand.

I'm located in Sumpter Township, MI (Belleville ZIP code) between Detroit & Ann Arbor, just SW of Detroit Metro Airport. My truck is a '48 F1, a 30-footer that is (supposedly) a CA/AZ veteran. There must be swamps out there somewhere, where my truck surely lived for many years. I know it was built at Long Beach, I bought it years ago in Payson, AZ.
I hope to begin restoration after deer season, $$$ permitting. The truck has a '46 59A V-8 installed, it "ran good when put away" a few years back, but I want to take it back close to original. I just bought a greasy old 226 flathead 6 from a '50 F1 for $150 which I want to rebuild & install.
I have zero restoration experience, so some aspects will be farmed out, $$$ permitting, & you can be sure I will rely on the expertise of the great FTE F-series crowd.
I would love to post pics, but I have thrown up my hands after hours of trying. Why do they make it so d***** difficult?

I think the point of this thread got buried about 5 pages back. It is to put your location and truck info IN YOUR SIGNATURE or in YOUR PROFILE. We can't be referring to this thread every time we need to know that info.
You edit these in User CP (control panel). The location is down near the bottom on the Edit Your Details page. Signature is on a separate page.

Ross, I don't mean to be a pest about this. It just seems lately it's almost a weekly occurrence that some one asks where they can get a part or service. Most times it's an easy answer like Mac's or Classic Haulers but many times it's a part the could be easily found locally. I know if there's some in my general area, and I know it, I'm more inclined to help out with a part or referring a local supplier.
