It sure looks like a Ford bed from the front.

I think the engine was rebuilt about 15 years ago, pretty much sitting since then, the trans feels good shifting around as it sits, and the clutch pedal is very smooth. Another thing I really noticed is how well the doors are hanging when opening and closing.

Awesome, looks like a really nice truck. Now to get it home and tear into it. If it was mine I'd get her running, and stopping, and drive it as is for a while.

That bed in itself is worth the price of admission.

Get the aluminum camper shell as well. Someone might be looking for one for their vintage truck.

I bought one for a $100 and re-sold it for $350 or $400 a few months later.

I just posted a bunch more pics here. Take a look and let me know what you think of the engine. Hope it's a good one!

What am I missing there behind the carb? The PO even has a crazy lever arm turn signal indicator on a pulley system. This truck was on the fair grounds for some 30 years, bought for $10.00 in the late 70's, and saw the highway one time, as the story goes. I am super happy to be in the position to bring him back to life. Yes, he is a boy, easier to deal with that way! J. Edward is the name.

Still no attempt to turn it over, gotta get the gear up there. I made a deal that I will take PO Mom for a ride out in the woods when it's running again!

The pics you posted of the rear wheels was a widowmaker for sure.
