Brake options 1950 F1
Im looking for brake options for my 50 F1. I saw a setup somewhere that seemed to match my needs (front discs, rear drums) but now I cant find it. I have a Mustang II front suspension with coilovers and disc brakes with the smaller discs, not the larger ones. The rear brakes are drum brakes on a 9 inch rear from a 65 or so Ford Galaxy. I still have the stock foot pedal and the original crossmember for the tranny has not been removed yet. I am getting ready to install a 351W and C6 tranny. Whats the best option for brake master cylinder, pedal and booster? Im looking for easy install and good performance. This is not a race truck, just a street rod for cruisin. Thanks!

With a MII front end, your brake choices are almost limitless, from stock and basic to all out race stuff. Brakes for a normal driver application can be found from many truck parts vendors, or try these guys. ECI Disc Brake Conversion Kits - Mustang II & Pinto
For master cylinders and boosters, you'll first want to decide if you want to leave it under floor on move it to the firewall. It's a little more work to move it, but you might find having swinging pedals like a modern car is more comfortable. Just make sure whatever parts you buy are matched to the system you're using, ie; front disc/rear durm.
