Synthetic oil use in 6.2

I am looking for your thoughts and opinions on the use of synthetic oil
in the 6.2 engine. What brands are best,
change intervals, or anything else you can mention on this topic. Thanks...

Hi Mike
I have been running Amsoil in our 6.2, when odometer turned 1000 miles made the switch... Truck has almost 4500 now. I can remember exact change schedules but i think its 7500.

Thanks fordmdb,
I talked to a Ford service guy yesterday and he said they like the blend at their dealership, 85%syn-15% regular oil. He also suggested change at 5000 miles.

Thanks again...Mike in PA

Thumbs up

IMHO...just go with the Motorcraft Syn blend 5w20 that FORD calls for. It doesn't cost much...and can be found at Wally world.

I doubt that a full synthetic will yield better results at the 5000 mile change intervals. Remember...NEW $$$ truck...with NEW warranty.

Good luck...
