Figured we would hit up the Kancamagus Highway and possible a few other roads in the area. Cookout is possible with enough people and volunteers. I don't have a portable grill for starters.
If you do not know where the Kancamagus Highway is I added it to the NH Chapter map. Map is stickied in the Nh section.
Someone (to remain unmentioned) told me peak foliage is Oct 10-24.
This has become the NH and MA Oct meet. Also invited are ME and VT and anyone else willing to travel the distance.
So:
Date: Oct 10 (Sunday)
Time Schedule: (Times are estimates)
Meet up with DonJammer (PM him if you plan to come this way): 9:30AM at Mall of NH. Far end of TGI Fridays Parking lot near the Good Will bins. Leave by 10AM for Concord
10:30Concord Shaws parking lot near the road and Ft Eddy Plaza entrance. Concord Shaws is of Rt 93 Exit 14 (Loudon Rd). When heading North go straight at the exit ramp lights. Shaws will be on your Right at the next set of lights.
11AM head for Lincoln (Exit32)
12 Noon Lincoln McDonals parking lot. Exit 32 Rt 93 Take Rt off ramp and McD's is on right.
12:30 Leave McDonalds for the Kanc.
About 1:30 get to parking lot at Echo Lake state park.
The park is technically closed by October but the lot should be open. This is the same lot we did the tailgate cookout at about 2 years ago.
The gate at the state park parting lot should be open but there are no guarantees. Also the facilities will be closed for the season also.
