Help

I am putting a 302 in my 52 F1 and i have run into a few problems. I ordered a set of Dynomax block huggers and found that they are hitting the starter. I've read in other threads here that I may need a small starter. The problem is that I am running a 164 tooth flywheel and the truck bellhousing out of a 78 Ford pickup. Does anyone know if you can get a small starter for this setup?

Sure. That shouldn't be a problem. Most all of the later model Fords have the larger flywheel, so it would be a popular aftermarket piece. This one should work, but call to be sure before ordering.

Ford's starters got smaller as the production years passed but the bolt pattern stayed the same and they are physically interchangeable. Generally, the late model gear reduction starters are small enough to use with block huggers. Check one out for a '94 F-250 5.8L with either a manual or automatic depending on which transmission you have.
