Original Hubcaps

Need a little clarification on hubcaps. I've searched/read some of the post regarding the hubcaps, but I am still confused. According to the master parts/accessories catalog Section 12,page 3: (yes I bought the cd and it's well worth it) Hubcaps for 64/65 F250(4x2) have a part #C1TZ1130-B,
Hubcaps for 66/67 F250(4x2) have a part # C6TZ1130-F. Also quanity for this hubcap has "AR" instead of 4. Anyone know what "AR" means ?
Confused when "innie's" changed to "outie's". I also didn't see any listing for "cusom Cabs". I am looking to get the correct wheels and hubcaps for my truck..1966 Camper Special/ Custom Cab..Thanks..Joe

The caps are the same...the difference is the finish...the later p/n shows red letters..the earlier shows no mention of red letters...just argent. The AR does mean 'As Required' If you look at the 4WD trucks it has a C3 p/n...my best guess without having factory literature or pics to look at is thats the first year they put that cap on the 4WD trucks...whats the difference between it and the C1 p/n...as I take it...absolutely nothing IMO...the seperate listing for the 4WD is probably to point out that A, they dont nor can they use 4 of these caps due to the front axle locking hubs. And B, the 4WD trucks only got them on the rear wheels in case a 4WD owner would have wanted a full set for his truck...this would hopefully ask question/s as to why the AR vs 4 on the different trucks.

The correct caps for yours...and mine are the argent with red letters...I have 3 in need of a ride if you are in the market...they need refinishing for a restoration...

BTW, pg 1 of Sec 12 of the Text has the illustrations of the caps/wheelcovers just in case you hadnt noticed prior...

As to the CustomCab issue...as far as I know all trucks got the wheel caps where they would fit....put on after delivery to the dealer as I recall hearing from a wise owl :-)

Illustrated in Text, Section 12, Page 1:

C1TZ1130B .. Type 1 "innie" Hub Cap-Painted Silver with Black * FORD block letters.

C6TZ1130F .. Type 1 "innie" Hub Cap-Painted Argent with Red FORD block letters.

Innies: Slang word for hub caps that snap onto tabs or riveted clips located inside the wheels center section. (Correct Ford terminology: Internal Hub Cap Fastening).

Outies: Slang word for hub caps that snap over tabs located on the outside of the wheels center section. (Ford: External Hub Cap Fastening).

Innie hubcaps will not fit outie wheels and vice versa.

"As original" all 1961/66 F250's have innie wheels. 1967 F250's offered innie or outie wheels. 1968 and later F250's all have outie wheels.

Ford did not offer stainless steel hub caps for F250 Custom Cab's until 1967 and then only with outie wheels (Type 4).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Squire" Don: C3TZ1130C 4WD hub caps "Bright" (argent) with black * Ford block letters.

* Info source: 1957/68 (1/1/1968) Ford Truck Parts Catalog (loose leaf paper).

Wish I could take credit for the pictures. I stole them, can't remember from where. I did have to change the text as it was wrong, very wrong.
