steering

I have a 2001 F150 extended cab that had a moderate side impact. After repairs the truck drives great; however, the steering wheel is rotated about 90 degrees to the right when the truck is moving straight ahead. The truck has been aligned and it does not pull in either direction. Is this a problem I should be concerned about? What is involved in correcting the problem? Thanks for any advice.

The steering box needs to be replaced at the very least. The truck frame and componants have been severely twisted. The Insurance company will just want to reposition the steering wheel. Read the post here about steering failure:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...threadid=97815

Get the Insurance company to replace the steering box and take the truck in to another shop to check that every safety related component has been replaced... When all the parts have been corrected... Sell the truck and buy a new one. The truck will never be right again and small problems will continually come up.

I think you should also have the alignment checked again after the steering box is replaced too. I wouldn't trust an alignment from a shop that shipped the truck out the door with the steering wheel that far from centered.
