I'm having the same problems with my 1999 f250 after i just replaced 2 calipers now the old 2 are locking up. Boyfriend keeps blaming it on the "oversized" tires. This helped a lot thank you!
The thing is i checked the caliper and it sqeeextremly smooth and the pins have been greesed but stills happens. And it does pull when it happens and the truck shakes violently at 45mph and above when this happens. Any other ideas ?
I had the same problem, the shaking was terrible. Replaced the caliper (same one) problem solved. I did not replace the rotor and had no shaking afgter that.
2003 F150 2wd same problem but it is the right side that this is happening to on a buddy's of Mine. We put 3 new calipers on it within 2 months thinking at first that was the problem but it still does it when it wants to. I am leaning towards either a problem with the brake line, or , more likely, a problem with the front ABS block...any one else out there gone through this?
Bad brake hoses are very common. The problem takes a long time to develop, the pads drag for a long time, before it gets bad enough to need attention. The hoses are a lot cheaper than ABS parts and are much more likely to fail. Rubber hoses and brake fluid do not like each other.
Thank you. We did end up chaning out the right side brake line which had a kink in it as well as both brake hoses. We will now do that everytime one of these trucks are serviced. Thank you for your feedback.
