The 64mm schwizer that I have has lower EGTs and cruising boost is around 5 psi. It's a great turbo.

1200 and about 2 hrs to install. Getting the old 03 turbo out and putting the new one in. Other then the pedestal it was a direct replacement.

I would definitely do it again. It has been a great improvement.

When I did the turbo on an 03, I cant believe how easily it went in, the turbo basically fell into place.

No fighting with the up pipe or anything...

Glad you like your new turbo.

Gives a little more power and is supposed to help fuel mileage some. Some people have seen up to 5mpg gain, I have noticed any but Bill says that was because my new PCM had a crappy strategy in it. Got my old computer in now but I haven't had a chance to run a full tank out yet. I do know it's getting better than with the newer PCM I had,

Have you had your batteries load tested, although it seems the FICM voltage would drop if you had one bad. Maybe not.

One more thing to try.......wait an extra few seconds after the glowplug light goes out to crank it and see it that makes a difference.

Tim, Has he checked his icp press? Could be a switch starting to get flakey.

How is this different than running a tuner? Is this something that could be done in conjunction to an SCT? Do you have to send off your FICM to get it done?

An SCT doesn't touch the FICM. Tuners only mess with the PCM/TCM. Power Hungry Performance is who did mine. You can do it one of 3 ways. You can go to a place that tunes them and have them do it in-house, or you can send your FICM in to them and let them tune it and ship it back, or you can "order" their little module for like $150 that they ship to you and you tune it and ship the module back to them. I think there's a deposit with that last option that you get back once they receive the module back though.

But here's pretty much the reason I did it...my truck being an 03, the original PCM strategy is the one that runs the best, however the cold starts are horrible. Cold starts are due to the strategy that's in the FICM. So Bill at PHP was able to give my FICM a tuned strategy with the inductive heating so that my cold starts are good, and my PCM the original strategy so that it runs like the original 03s did. Plus on top of that the FICM tuning gives a little extra power on top of that (about 20-30hp) and a little bit better fuel mileage (some people see it and some don't. i can't confirm either way, but i know for a fact that it at least won't hurt your fuel mileage).
