**** my first ride was a 1990 Ford Tempo GLS. Talk about a death machine I had friends that would not even ride in it but hey I treated it well for the 3 years I drove it before cashing it in for some 2 wheel transportation. I sure do enjoy my truck now though.

Hope you get yours back soon Zach I know I would hate be without mine.

I don't complain about mpgs.... if ya wanna play, ya gotta pay :-)

My first and only car until I got the truck was an 84 Toyota Celica econobox I bought in college. I bought it new and finally sent it to the junkyard 25yrs later with 235K on it. That was a somber moment in my life, but the truck was just far more practical and useful.. Plus, I get to play with real toyz, and I'm loving it :-)

My first ride was a 1985 Honda Accord 4-door that my father, mother, and older sister all drove before it was passed down to me. Had 175k on it when I got it and I immediately put $1200 worth of stereo in it. Loved that car. It basically ran on water and stil got 30mpg regardless of how crappy the gas was you stuffed in it. Drove it for 4 years and sold it when dad handed down his 1992 Explorer to me which had 167k on it. Yes, we drive things til the wheels fall off. Got rid of the 92 for a 99 5.0 AWD which was a snow and mud beast, that I just traded in for the SCrew. Ford loyal!

My first was 1985 Chebby S10 Blazer with 70K on it. At first it was great but being carbureted the problems soon started. It would constantly die if you used the power steering and brake at the same time. I got real good at restarting the car after it would die while struggling to keep turning without the power steering and putting it in neutral so I could restart. Then there were the problems with the intake manifold gasket...thinned out the oil more than once. That will be the last Chebby I ever own. That got traded in on a 2 door Honda accord with 103K on it. Good red car, until the Houston pollution turned it pink!

I love the Honda products. I would have had a tough decision if they made a full size pickup with a solid rear axle. Who am I kidding? I love my SCrew. But as long as it doesn't have anything to do with "Government Motors", then I'm happy.

I check my fuel milage every tank. I drive mostly rural/county roads with little interstate driving. I average anywhere from 14-16.5 mpg depending on how I drive. One time when I had a full city driving tank i got 13. I love my truck so much i dont care anyways. Theres so many variables. I usually drive very nicely haha. Specs for the truck are in my sig, tires are 275/65/18s. These numbers have been consistant since I got the truck in March. Btw my first vehicle was a 93 f-150, reg cab short bed, 300 6, 5 speed 4x4. Black ice took it away from me.

lol...I did something similar. My tempo was passed to me from my sister and it had 88k on. I gave it to my older brother when I went to AZ with 135k on it. I also dropped about a $400 stereo into it. I even spent the time to remove a few dents, replacing the headliner, redo some interior carpet, and a few other things. When I came back from AZ I brought a 96 Grand Cherokee with 44K on it and drove it until 08 and sold it with 180k for $1,000.

I plan to keep the truck for about another 8 years before buying another one.

I get great pleasure out of driving vehicles for a lot of years. The 99 Explorer I had was bought in 02 with 40k on it. Just traded it in two weeks ago with 141k. Could have driven it longer, but the costs to maintain it were higher than the costs to maintain the wife's Civic. Thus we took the plunge on the SCrew. Boy I'm glad we did.

so any ideas?

Get a BP Visa and get the fuel discounts. I use one and get a free tank a month plus their gas gets 2mpg more that the cheap fuel crap places like wal mart gas that has 20% ethanol in it.

You know this is oddly true about BP. I have noticed before that my truck gets better mileage from BP gas then other places. maybe this is why Ford recommends using BP gas at least that is what it says on the inside of my old fuel door.

You know, I noticed that Ford recommendation earlier this week. I also have to say that I have found their fuels to yield slightly better gains also. Hmmm, there is a BP right by my house. It's sketchy, but that might have to be my stop from now on.

My first time I noticed it I was driving up to the mountains around Harrisonburg. I stopped before leaving Richmond and filled up and then filled up again in Harrisonburg where I was at about a 1/2 tank I think. Then I drove the rest of my trip (about 45miles), around the area for the weekend some, back to Richmond, and then 4 days in town once I was back before having to fill up again. I have never gotten mileage like that again but it was nice that week for sure.

Ouch 12 mpg that worst.

My 01 F250 2wd with 5.4L that have over 200K miles.

I get 13.9-15.5 mpg in city and Hwy 16-20 mpg depend how you drive and draft off by semi. Most is 17 on highway.
