Drive Shaft Carrier Bearing

I have a 2004 F150 2WD Short Bed, Extended Cab. 145" wheel Base. Truck has 2 piece drive shaft and the carrier bearing has failed.

It appears the carrier bearing is not serviceable as it is capturesd on the drive shaft by the yokes on both ends and cannot be replaced.

Ford tells me I need to replace both drive shafts as they are balanced pairs to the tune of about $850.00 for the pair.

Does this seem correct?
