12v Batter Power On 7 Way Trailer Connector....
Hello Everyone,
I have a brand new 2011 F250 Super Duty Lariat (6.7 Diesel). I love this truck by the way!!!
Anyway, when my camper is attached and plugged into the 7 pin plug, all of the brakes and lights work, but the 12 volt power line to charge the battery on my trailer is not working. I checked the Power Distribution Box and the 25 amp fuse is in correct socket (#90) and the relay is in place in socket 102. I have checked the voltage on the appropriate lead on the 7 way connector and I have NO voltage on the lead "12 Volt Battery Power" which is what should be charging the batteries on my camper. Any ideas as to why the 12 volt is not working on my 7 pin trailer connection?
I know on my previous truck, F150, I had to insert a relay to enable it. Any ideas????
Thanks,
gascan

Do know for sure that the truck is charging the battery on the RV's attached to these trucks or was just the basic (brake/blinker/running light) check done?
Thanks,
Chris

If you are not getting any voltage on the power pin with the key on then there is a problem. But you already know that.
How did you check the fuse? Visually or with a meter or test light. If the fuse tests OK, and it's a brand new truck, I'd take it to a dealer and let them fix it. It may be as simple as they missed plugging something in.
