Keep blowing the fuse for the brakes...

No brake lights, but have turn signals and running lights. I keep blowing the fuse for the brakes. I stick a new fuse in there and touch the pedal and then the fuse blows. Could this be a brake switch issue? Or do I need to keep searching.

Any help would be great. thanks...

I think I would look for a short going back towards the lamps. Here is a bump for you though.

Any aftermarket stuff inside the cab? I've seen a new head unit installed that when they went to hook up all the junk on it, they ended up pulling loose a wiring harness from the plastic pin that held it in place.

Got to the point that stepping on the brake and shifting into D would kill the trailer lights.

Found the loose harness, secured it back up to where it was supposed to be, and it's been problem free for about 6 months now.

Don't forget the trailer plug receptacle, it could have a short.

Thanks for the advice guys, got some hunting to do this weekend... the harness that plugs into the brake is loose. First I am going to buy all new bulbs, then the brake switch...
