460 casting numbers and balancing

i have the engine and cylinder head casting numbers and wondering when this engine was built i understand there are more numbers than what i have here and i realize there are more than just a few people asking this question so please bare with me. engine numbers areD1V3 6015 A2B cylinder head numbers are D3VE A2A just trying to figure everything out. also i have a zf 5 speed and a matching 460 efi motor i am trying to put one of my 460 motors up to the 5 speed but i want it carbed. ive found lots of things saying to put my old 460 heads and manifold on my newer block to make things work but im trying to see if anyone has heard of a 180 tooth neutral balance flywheel that will allow me to use my old 460 with carb with my zf trans. thanks in advance

You can find the date of manufacture by looking for this date mark. On the block it will be in the lifter valley, on the head's it will be under the valve cover. In your case the first number will mean a 197?, if a 3, it would be 1973, if a 4 then 1974 and so on. In my example tag, the numbers relate to 1960 era, this is known by the C on the outside of the head. Just as your head has a D as the first letter which means 1970 era. So that the first number 9 means that it is a 1969, C means it was cast in the third month of the year which was March, and the 21 is the day.in that month...also notice the two screw head impression's, that held the date tag in place in the mold for that day

I don't think you can use your 0 balance flywheel with the ZF transmission.
At least, I know that my flywheel is not drilled to accept the larger 12" clutch that the ZF splines fit into.
Have you considered having a crank shop zero balance the later flywheel, or a machine shop drill the early flywheel for the 12" clutch pattern?

Of course you have already suggested the simple solution, swapping the carbed heads onto the later shortblock, but then you will likely end up with a serpentine front dress on a carbed motor.

There might be an FE flywheel from a large truck application with a pattern that matches the ZF's 12" clutch, but I'm not aware of it.
