Anyone Know the answer to this question ???? I've had my driveshaft rebuilt about 6 months ago and just today have replaced my very rear u-joint. 6 months on a new u-joint isn't a great life span. When towing my excavator and going up a pretty good hill it vibrates pretty good and always has done so ! Today I dropped my carrier bearing 1/4" and it still vibrates. Do I need to drop it more to get rid of this vibration ???

Could be alot of things. Have you checked your carrier bearing?

I had an AWFUL vibration/hum when i hit anything over 55. I was not very familiar with the truck at the time and had not found this forum. Sadly, I and got took to the cleaners. They rebuilt the driveshaft (keeping the factory split shaft - ugh), as well as the rear diff (the slip yoke had not been greased and had torqued the driveshaft into the rear diff).
After all that I still had the vibration/hum.
I was able to finally resolve it by shimming the carrier bearing with the kit that Pro Comp sells. If you have the factory split shaft it's not so much knowing how much to drop for each inch of lift. You need to set a goal of making the split shaft as straight as possible coming from the tranny to the rear diff.
When I got the shaft straight, my problems disappeared.
Good luck man, I know how frustrating it is.
