Hello, New Guy Up North with Project 1951 F1

HI All, just wanted to say Hi from Ontario, Canada. I just purchased a 1951 F1 in Pieces with a running flathead 8. Looking forward to restoring the truck but looking to add a few comforts such as disc brakes, a little better suspension etc. Any help on a disc brake set up would be mucho appreciated!! Thank you

Good to know there is another person from Ontario. I have added power brakes to my 52 but still with the drums, works great in the garage.

Welcome

Hi. Welcome.
Where in Ontario are you? I'm in southern Ontario with a 1949 F1 and am searching for a flathead V8 for it. We are planning to put MII IFS in and a 9" on a 4 link in the back, all on air bags.

If you're close and need help give a shout.

Dave

I am around the Peterborough area. I was at the Oshawa Autofest on the weekend, there were almost 1500 vehicles and there was only 1 51 and 1 52, need to get some more on the road.
I just added a power booster in the original sptot on the frame, looks good but I haven't had it down the road yet. Just put the cab on after the inside was painted so it is looking like a truck again.

wow...my grampa's cottage was off of Maryland Drive. Small world!..when the brakes heat up...especially drums..they become less effective.
