Headliner

There is a spot in my headliner above my head that is starting to sag. Can it be repaired or will I have to replace it?

Sometimes they are salvagable. Just depends on how bad it is. I'm not sure what to use to repair it but I would definitely give it a shot before getting a new one. If the spot is big enough, you may have to peel away the liner from the spot to the edge and apply adhesive this way so that you dont end up with two small sags. Kind of a roll it to the edge so there are no air bubbles kind of thing. Just my .02 Cents.

Hope this helps buddy.

When they sag , it is due to the foam deteriorating . You may be able to spray some adhesive in there , but it will most likely soak through the fabric.. I have to fix mine too, its getting bad...

I had mine redone at a upholstery shop. Came out OK but the place I went to must have changed hands. I'm not real pleased with it but its OK. A big headliner like yours if this shop did it would probably be $500.00 conservatively. If you did the R&R.

I've seen pins (best description) at auto parts store that hold up the material so it doesn't get worse. Or so they say.

$500 bones... ouch. A new headliner would be cheaper I'm sure.

Finding a reputable shop is the hard part. I don't like to let anyone I don't know/trust do ANYTHING to my truck, even if its just gluing the fabric back to the foam on my headliner

AGREED. Ever since I started working on vehicles for myself, there are very few people I trust with it! I would just try to get it looking half way normal for now until you REALLY need a new liner, then put one in.

Not trying to hijack your post, but can you guys check my new post out too? I need advice and I'm thinking about doing this today:

I did my own. Pulled it out of the truck, scraped everything off, bought headliner material from a fabric shop, bought spray adhesive. Only cost me about $20 total.

upholstry shop quoted me $150

yes, very difficult. When I did some research on it it said to take out the back glass and pull it out that way. I ended up twisting it around and pulling it out the back door somehow. I don't even know how I got it out really... or back in.
